Isabelle & Aldo's Story

Throughout 2018, lifelong cat lover Isabelle fostered several kittens for the Cat Protection Society of Victoria, and from here, her love for cats only grew stronger.

Fast forward to the middle of Melbourne’s lockdowns, after long months of working from home alone and hours of binging cat videos on Instagram, Isabelle convinced her partner Matt that there was no better time to adopt a feline companion.

When Isabelle visited the Cat Protection Society in Greensborough, Aldo - a tiny kitten who had been at the shelter for over a month - caught her eye.

“While I met all the other potential adoptees, I just found myself coming back to him over and over. He was cheeky and playful and full of energy with the sweetest little face, and we spent far too long playing in the shelter,” said Isabelle.

Isabelle said Aldo had made the perfect addition to her small family.

“He loves chewing on my shoes, dipping his paws in fresh glasses of water and staring at birds out of the window for hours,” says Isabelle.

“He’s added so much joy and fun to our lives, he has so much personality, and he is the most affectionate cuddly boy, with a strong persistent (sometimes naughty) nature and we are so grateful we were able to give him a nice loving home.”

On adopting, Isabelle said she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“After fostering years earlier and seeing the large number of cats in rescues throughout the state that needed families, it felt like the right fit for us.”
