Moderna Hooded Corner Flip Cat Litter Box

Comments: I have had this litter box for about a month now, it is the best ever. no scrap litter; aside from the little bit that gets caught on my cats paws (only needs to be swept every 3 days). It is very roomy for my cat; under 4kg. I do not recommend keeping the flap door on, letting air into the litter box will help the smell, I found that as soon as I opened the lid to clean it, it stank with it on. it fits a whole 10kg bag of trouble n trix kitty litter, with room for more; I use Trouble & Trix Cat Litter Ultimate 10L. There is NO SMELL at all with these 2 combined. I also use the Trouble and Trix - Cat Litter Tray Plastic Liners LARGE, they don't fit the litter tray perfectly, but they work well enough; just make sure you press down the corner parts of the liners into the bottom / floor of the litter tray when changing the liner so the corners don't stick or or poke through the litter. When you put the hood back on, there are two spots at the back where you have to give it a good bang on the top / back of the litter tray to secure it, or the hood of the tray won't be secured properly. I would probably add more kitty litter every 6-8 weeks. My cat tends to tear up the litter liner when the kitty litter gets low, so I change the liner every 3-4 weeks; if needed (I also take this opportunity to give it a through cleaning). I love how you keep the scoop inside the top of the litter tray, I also keep a roll of dog poo bags under the handle of the tray, similar to a toilet paper roll; Easier to clean. The Universal Charcoal Litter Odour Filter needs replacing about once every 2-3 months, the only other key giveaway to when this may need changing is the smell coming from the Litter Box. It only costs $10.00, sometimes cheaper if you have a Pet Stock membership and the filter comes in one(1) big sheet and can be cut down to size. I used the old / original piece to measure and cut the size of the filter/s. I bought my litter tray and liners using Zip Pay (NOT After Pay) and click and collect; didn't / don't have to pay for mine till Feb 28th (auto payment)' monthly, weekly, fortnightly; whatever you choose. Basically this is the best litter box you can choose, it sits nicely in the corner out of the way; I purchased it in the Speckled Grey. Suits any part of the house and goes with any colour scheme if you have it where it's clearly visible... Colour looks a lot nicer in person than it does in the Photo. NOTE: If pricing online is cheaper than in store, pet stock will price match; just ask or let them know. They will / can also match Petbarn pricing if it is cheaper than their own stock of the same product. This goes for the Kitty Litter, Liners and the tray. Just make sure you have a photo from the website online as proof... This Tray is worth every cent, buy it you won't be disappointed.

Comments: I have 3 bigger breed cats so I bought this litter box and their other rectangular shaped enclosed box but wouldn't recommend either that much. Although the open type of litter trays can be messing with cats flicking out the litter, I find at least I never had trouble with the cats using them but these closed in type they tend to sometimes use them and sometimes not, I feel this is due to them not liking being closed in to use the box at times. Sits nicely in a corner. Doesn't really reduce odors emanating from the litter box though. The door flap hinders my cats from using this box so I've removed it. My cats are big breed cats so this box still isn't really big enough for them to move around in comfortably. Wouldn't buy this type again.

Comments: As a first-time cat owner, this product has been an absolute life-saver. I adopted a little frightened kitten about two months ago and have gone through the whole "am I doing the best by her?", "am I doing this right?", "is she content with this?" spiel over and over. I noticed that when I had a flat litter tray, she had the tendency to really dig and kick litter everywhere. It got to the point where half her litter box would be kicked all over the bathroom! Every. Single. Day. I'd be finding cat litter in tight crevices in the corner of my tiled bathroom, making it near impossible to clean with just a simple sweep. I finally bit the bullet and said, "why not?" when I saw this product at the pet store. So far it's been an absolute god-send. I use crystal cat litter so it tends to be a bit noisy when she kicks it everywhere, as it bangs on the plastic and whatnot but it's a small price to pay for piece of mind. I haven't tried it with the flap down as I've heard some cats don't appreciate being boxed in - so the flap has always been up. It tends to smell a bit when everything starts to build up, however, it's not bad as there is a filter and having the flap open to air it out helps disperse the bad smells. I love this product and couldn't recommend it enough!
