“Terrible”

Comments

This aquarium is the worst! First of all the light doesn't come off so it makes it impossible to get big things in and out of the aquarium. Secondly the manual is useless it has barely any information about how to set up the equipment. And thirdly the filter is horrendous, getting the filter out is impossible and when I did it left my fingers with blisters.

Bottom Line

No, I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend

“Terrible aquarium, many flaws”

Comments

The initial setup instructions were poor and completely left out whole components - we had to contact Aqua One to find out the missing information. Since then we have experienced many other problems. We have had this aquarium for five months now and have lost six of our 11 fish, together with experiencing many operational/functional issues with this tank. The white colour seemed like a good idea, but in fact shows dirt so quickly that we need to clean the tank weekly - advice from PetStock that this is destroying our water balance and may be killing our fish is somewhat concerning, as the alternative of leaving the tank dirty does not seem to be encouraging fish health in any way. In any case, I would argue the 'advanced filtration' claims are false. The design of the tank also means that some parts cannot be cleaned, including the tube that runs between the two corner columns - we can only imagine what is going on in there, given how dirty the rest of the tank components get in just a week. The corner pillars, which house the filtration sponges, also accumulate particulate matter which is impossible to remove. And from a design perspective, the hard corners are much less pleasing to the eye than the rounded corners that other tanks have - again, not something we considered until it was too late. The pump often, for no reason, starts making a clacking noise which requires minute fiddling adjustments to stop, and which often return louder seconds or minutes later - it is incredibly temperamental and the noise is driving us crazy. And the lid design is terrible - it's held on by four flimsy plastic clips which one supplier advises to keep plenty of in stock because they snap so often - it's also really hard for people with larger hands to even get into the little gaps to be able to remove the lid - the whole thing is an accident waiting to happen. Overall this is a terribly designed tank - which is ironic given its design is one of its main selling points - and we absolutely cannot recommend it. I should also note that when I contacted Aqua One about my issues they did not acknowledge any of the flaws identified with this item, reducing my faith in them as a supportive company to deal with in future.
