Pet Horoscopes: Your Gemini Pet

Community

You might know the ins and outs of your own star sign, but what about your pets? If your pet was born between May 21 – June 20, they fall under the Gemini sign of the zodiac. According to the stars your pet is curious, playful – and a little erratic. For a bit of fun (note this isn’t a science – just a playful deep dive) we’re looking at pet traits based on their horoscope. Read all about your Gemini pet and what (supposedly) makes them tick!

Note…this is meant to be an entertaining read, not hard facts. Please refer to our Pet Smarts guides for advice on animal care!

What Being A Gemini Says About Your Dog Or Cat

Gemini is a lofty air sign – and it’s one of the more versatile signs because Geminis don’t like being tied down. Affectionally coined the ‘jack of all trades’ of the zodiac, Gemini signs love trying new things, but tend to lose interest quickly and jump onto the next thing. You’re going to have to be on your toes to occupy a Gemini pet! Changing up toys and treats regularly is a good way to keep Geminis engaged while they flit from one whim to another.

Represented by ‘the twins’ in astrology – Gemini has an undeserved reputation of being two-faced. Really, they just have a multi-faceted personality with some contradicting quirks as all their different ideas and desires are juggling for space in their ever-busy schedules. Prepare to be entertained!

Gemini Pet Strengths

  • Excellent communicators – expect Gemini dogs to be barkers! If you leave them in your front yard, you’ll likely see them engaging with everyone that walks past. They’ll be great at conveying what they’re after, even if they can’t verbally communicate. Same goes for cats – they’ll be extra communicative little floofs. Expect kneading, purring, slow blinks. All the good stuff.
  • Boundless energy – if you’ve ever wanted a pet that’s an energiser bunny, you’ll be in luck with a Gemini companion. Put this to good use with lots of walks or give them free reign of the house and watch the zoomies take over.
  • Eager to please – this aspect of their nature will come in handy when you’re trying to teach new tricks! Gemini pets absorb information like a sponge. Just keep an eye on their attention spans…best to keep training sessions short and sharp!

Gemini Pet Weaknesses

  • Becomes bored easily – they’re smart and energetic, but that also translates to running a million miles a minute and wanting to change things up constantly. You’ll need an arsenal of treats and toys up your sleeve to keep your Gemini pet’s curious mind working away.
  • Inconsistency – one day your Gemini cat wants pats, the next they’re stalking off when you disturb them…maybe your Gemini dog loves squeaking toys on one occasion and rope ones on the next. Don’t take it personally, according to their stars Gemini pets are inconsistent by nature and that’s ok. It just makes it more important to read their cues.
  • Short attention span – ever heard the phrase ‘jack of all trades, master of none’? Gemini pets are likely to know the basics of a lot of things but rarely commit enough to master anything. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with being an all-rounder!

Gemini Pet Likes

  • Highly social – expect your Gemini pet to be your shadow, otherwise known as a ‘Velcro’ pet. They’re not necessarily anxious, they just like to be with their pack.
  • Attention – Gemini pets are entertainers. They love being the centre of attention with their cute and creative antics. Have you ever thought about creating an Instagram account for your pet? Your Gemini dog or cat may be a good fit!
  • Walks – Gemini dogs love to discover new things, and a great way to do that is taking them on walks and hikes around different areas. If you’ve got a cat, why not give them a walk (with a lead of course) and see how they like it! They might surprise you.

Gemini Pet Dislikes

  • Hates routine – Gemini is a sign that embraces change and rolls with the punches, which translates well to mixing things up on a regular basis but poorly to doing the same thing over and over. As we’ve said, Gemini pets will keep you on your toes!
  • Waiting – Geminis are not celebrated for their patience. Leave your pet waiting around and they’ll let you know they’re annoyed!
  • Being alone – some signs can think of nothing better than a cosy night in by themselves…Gemini is not one of them. They value connection and communication – and need other humans or pets around to bounce their ever-present energy off.
