Credelio is an oral flea and tick preventive treatment for dogs. The main active ingredients are lotilaner and milbemycin oxime which, this is made into a chewable tablet that works to kill fleas, ticks and worms by targeting the nervous system of these pests, leading to paralysis and death. When Credelio is ingested, it enters the dog's bloodstream. When fleas or ticks bite the dog and consume the blood, they also ingest the lotilaner. Once inside the flea or tick, the lotilaner affects the pest's nervous system, causing paralysis, which subsequently leads to its death. This ensures that the parasites cannot continue to feed, reproduce, or cause harm to the dog.
Credelio Plus is an expanded version of the original Credelio that combines the flea and tick prevention capabilities of lotilaner with the added benefit of treating certain types of worms, thanks to the inclusion of another active ingredient: milbemycin oxime. Milbemycin oxime is an anthelmintic, which means it's effective against certain types of worms such as; heartworms, hookworms, roundworms and whipworms.
