Petstock Foundation’s National Pet Adoption Month, ‘Adopt-a-Buddy!’
Every dollar raised and every adoption made has helped move us closer to a future where no pet is left behind.

Meet Petstock’s 2026 NPAM Ambassador: Melanie Bracewell
Melanie Bracewell is an award-winning New Zealander comedian, writer and presenter who has become a household name in New Zealand and Australia.
Melanie is a dedicated advocate for animal rescue. She is the proud dog mum to her two beloved rescues, Gigi and Charles.
She says, “I’m thrilled to support the Petstock Foundation for National Pet Adoption Month. Adoption is very close to my heart. Adopting wouldn’t be possible without rescue charities and volunteers who work tirelessly, and I’m proud to encourage people to support them in any way they can.”

Baby Dougo
Born with a cleft lip, Baby Dougo’s life began with a fight for survival. Thanks to intensive foster care and round-the-clock veterinary support, this resilient pup thrived against the odds. After overcoming significant health hurdles, we are thrilled to announce that Baby Dougo has officially been adopted into a loving home!

Emergency Rescue of Newborn Kittens
When four newborns were found trapped under a house in critical condition, our team performed emergency triage to save them from hypothermia and infection. While we tragically lost one, survivors Mudcrab, Breamie, and Yabby stabilised through 24-hour bottle feeding and expert medical oversight. This case highlights the vital, life-saving impact of our community’s support for neonatal care.
