Christmas Project
Story Dogs has been a game-changer for our students at Gillwinga Public School, many of whom face challenges like ADHD, ASD, and trauma. Rusty the dog has helped break down barriers to reading and supported emotional regulation—bringing joy and lighting up faces every time he walks through the gate.

Riding with RDA for the past two years has been life changing. Living with Mitochondrial Disease and Myopathy, I use a wheelchair and can’t stand but riding has strengthened my core, improved hip movement, and helped slow down the progresson of muscle weakness. I’m so grateful for this experience, the beautiful horse I ride, and the amazing support system behind me. My biggest hope is that one day, I might stand.

Christmas Project
Story Dogs reduces the anxiety around learning to read. Sometimes students are so anxious they do not want to come to school. Story Dogs helps to give them the incentive to come to school and be with their trusted Story Dog. It is the safe, non-judgemental space that is created with a dog that gives the students the confidence to turn up and have a go.

Christmas Project
Horse riding has been a game-changer for our son. Despite his limb difference, riding Picasso the horse gives him freedom, confidence, and joy. It’s improved his balance and motor skills, but even more importantly, it’s boosted his self-esteem. We’re so grateful for the positive impact this supportive community has had on him, and we can't wait to see him continue to grow and thrive in this wonderful environment.
