Product Safety

Petstock’s Australian retail range includes flea and tick treatments, insecticides, pest control products and cleaning products. Some of these products contain substances with properties that may pose risks to people, animals or the environment. Risks depend on the substance, exposure and how the product is used, stored and disposed of.

Our approach to chemical information and management includes:

• We expect suppliers and manufacturers to provide accurate product ingredient and safety information through labels, packaging and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), as applicable to the product. We draw on this information to help customers understand product hazards and precautions.
• We expect suppliers and manufacturers to comply with the Australian chemical and product safety requirements applicable to their products, including registration and labelling requirements where relevant.
• We review supplier compliance with relevant chemical and product safety requirements as part of our responsible sourcing processes.
• For our Own Brand products, we use our Restricted & Prohibited Chemicals List, where relevant and appropriate to the product category and associated chemical risk, to communicate chemical restrictions to suppliers. The list draws on relevant publicly available regulatory sources, including Australia’s Industrial Chemicals Environmental Management Standard (IChEMS) Register.
