Clean cool water should be constantly available for drinking. Bird feeders should be raised and preferably attached to the side of the cage so they can’t be knocked over while your bird is feeding or flying. Ensure food and water containers are out of direct sunlight and don’t position them below perches, where they can become contaminated. Caged birds also require water for bathing and grooming, especially when it’s hot. A shallow saucer or dish is best for this, but make sure it’s positioned out of the sun. Clean your bird feeding accessories regularly to reduce the risk of disease or health issues.
